Olu Jacobs (born in 1942), is an acclaimed actor, writer, stage director and producer. An alumnus of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, London, he has a diploma in marketing and sales management and is a high profile member of several national and international bodies. He has worked with several acclaimed producers in award winning stage and film performances in Britain. His body of work spans about fifty years, on stage, film and radio with Universal Pictures, MGM, Walt Disney (USA), the BBC, National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Pinewood Studios (Great Britain and Ireland) and over 300 movies in Nigeria. Some of his works include: Baby Secret of the Lost Legend, Pirates with Walter Matthau by Roman Polanski (Walt Disney), The Witches and the Grinnygog (BBC TV series), Night and Day by Tom Stoppard with Dianna Rigg and John Thaw a National Theater West End Production that ran for 18 months.
A multi talented multiple award winner, who gave up his establishing career abroad to come back to Nigeria in order to help improve the merit of the Nigerian movie industry. Some of his awards include: African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for best actor in a lead role, Five Continent Best Actor Award and Life Time Achievement Award in Cameroon and Ghana.
Olu Jacobs is the executive the chairman of Lufodo Group which encompasses Lufodo Academy of Performing Arts (LAPA) , Lufodo Productions, Lufodo Distributions and, Lufodo Consult.
He was conferred with the National honors of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR).
He is currently curating for the Bank of Industry (BOI) Theatre, Film, Documentary and Poetry for the 2012 London Olympics.
